Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to test the attenuated-anger and heightened-anger hypotheses of psychopathy by assessing the physiological, behavioral, and subjective measures of anger in individuals with and without psychopathic traits.
Design/methodology/approach
In all, 62 male college students were assigned to one of three groups based on evidence of elevated affective-interpersonal (Factor 1) and antisocial lifestyle (Factor 2) traits associated with psychopathy (the IF1+F2 group), evidence of only Factor 2 traits (the F2 only group), or based on the absence of psychopathic traits (the control group), using Gough’s (1957) Socialization scale and a modified, interview only form of Hare’s (1991) Psychopathy Checklist-Revised. To induce anger, participants received unjust criticism about their performance on a computer-based affective lexical decision task and were denied a performance bonus they had reason to expect.
Findings
Following provocation, the three groups displayed similar increases in blood pressure, pulse, and self-reported anger. The control and IF1+F2 groups also displayed similar retaliation toward the confederate. However, the IF1+F2 group displayed smaller increases on two of three measures of facial muscle activity associated with anger.
Originality/value
This study is one of the first to assess anger responsiveness in individuals with psychopathic traits using a powerful anger induction and using physiological, behavioral, and subjective indices of anger. It is also the first to assess both the attenuated-anger and the heightened-anger hypotheses of psychopathy. The findings appear largely inconsistent with both perspectives.

Purpose
This study aims to comprehensively address the challenge of delineating traffic scenarios in video footage captured by an embedded camera within an autonomous vehicle.
Design/methodology/approach
This methodology involves systematically elucidating the traffic context by leveraging data from the object recognition subsystem embedded in vehicular road infrastructure. A knowledge base containing production rules and logical inference mechanism was developed. These components enable real-time procedures for describing traffic situations.
Findings
The production rule system focuses on semantically modeling entities that are categorized as traffic lights and road signs. The effectiveness of the methodology was tested experimentally using diverse image datasets representing various meteorological conditions. A thorough analysis of the results was conducted, which opens avenues for future research.
Originality/value
Originality lies in the potential integration of the developed methodology into an autonomous vehicle’s control system, working alongside other procedures that analyze the current situation. These applications extend to driver assistance systems, harmonized with augmented reality technology, and enhance human decision-making processes.

The stiffening international competition facing the Swedish chemical industry has led to a transition from commodity chemicals to speciality chemicals. Emphasis on speciality chemicals places demands on the flexibility of production systems. Analyses the issues regarding flexible production in the chemical industry in terms of the means of achieving flexibility and factors affecting flexibility, based on a study designed as a case study of two production units in a Swedish chemical company. Demonstrates the multi‐dimensional nature of the problems surrounding flexibility, and that technical and social factors interact to achieve a state of flexibility. Controlled by skilled employees, new technology may be a powerful means of achieving flexibility. Shows that technological factors may be associated with heavy restrictions that can be only partly offset by the social system.

This paper deals with the discrimination problem of the states which involve two types of uncertainty: “randomness” and “fuzziness.” This problem is very important in the fields of soft science such as management science, sociology, eta, since the object of discrimination involves these types of uncertainty. In this paper, we propose a discrimination system of fuzzy states on a probability space and derive the decision rule which minimizes the average of error probability of discrimination. In our formulation of the discrimination system there exists the case that a large number of observations does not necessarily make the average of error probability small, so that an index for decision of an upper limit of number of observations is also derived.

Abstract
A simple interaction‐potential model has been established to calculate the higher order elastic constants of intermetallic YbAl2 in the temperature range from 10‐300K. Temperature dependent second and third order elastic constants are used for the determination of the ultrasonic attenuation, velocity, Grüneisen numbers, Acoustic‐coupling constants, and thermal relaxation time at the different temperatures. Temperature dependency of the ultrasonic properties of YbAl2 is similar at low temperatures to that of pure metals and the low carrier heavy fermion systems ‐ LaSb, YbAs and YbP having simple NaCl‐type structures. Thermal energy density makes significant contribution to the total attenuation in the compound at the higher temperatures from 100‐300K. Effect of the magnetic field on the ultrasonic attenuation is also evaluated using the magneto resistance data. At 100K, the effect of the magnetic field becomes insignificant. The attenuation decreases with the field at 3K to 50K.

Presents a real‐time neural network‐based condition monitoring system for rotating mechanical equipment. At its core is an ARTMAP neural network, which continually monitors machine vibration data, as it becomes available, in an effort to pinpoint new information about the machine condition. As new faults are encountered, the network weights can be automatically and incrementally adapted to incorporate information necessary to identify the fault in the future. Describes the design, operation, and performance of the diagnostic system. The system was able to identify the presence of fault conditions with 100 percent accuracy on both lab and industrial data after minimal training; the accuracy of the fault classification (when trained to recognize multiple faults) was greater than 90 percent.

Purpose
Health promotion and disease prevention by means of functional foods have become more popular among consumers due to the rising trend of non-communicable diseases. Driven by the increased demand, the authors aimed to investigate sensorial, nutritional and physicochemical properties of chicken nugget incorporated with unripe Cavendish banana and Flavourzyme® [Control (without banana and Flavourzyme®), F1 (banana only), F2 (Flavourzyme® only), F3 (banana and Flavourzyme®)].
Design/methodology/approach
Sensory evaluation was carried out by means of 9-point hedonic scale among consumer panels (n = 83) to evaluate control, F1, F2 and F3. These were then subjected to chemical (moisture, protein, fat, ash, carbohydrate, total dietary fibre, potassium and antioxidant contents) and physical (texture profile and water activity) analyses.
Findings
Sensory acceptance of control was significantly higher compared to other formulations. Fibre, antioxidant and potassium contents were significantly higher, although moisture, protein and fat contents were significantly lower in F1 and F3 compared to control. Remarkably, F1 and F3 were eligible to be declared as “source of dietary fibre”. Therefore, F1, F2 and F3 can serve as healthier alternatives with high antioxidant activity without compromising consumers' acceptance.
Originality/value
This innovative study generates unique findings pertaining to the nutritional values of novel functional chicken nugget and the formulation enables it to be declared as a source of dietary fibre. Results have contributed knowledge to existing literature as well as benefits food manufacturers in creating healthy functional food to better meet the needs and expectations of health-conscious consumers, healthcare providers, governmental organisations and consumer advocacy groups.

Purpose
The purpose of this study is to identify organisational homeostasis factors in the context of healthcare organisations and to develop a conceptual model for green transformation.
Design/methodology/approach
The organisational homeostasis factors were determined by review of literature study and the opinions of healthcare experts. Scheduled interviews and closed-ended questionnaires are employed to collect data for this research. This study employed “TISM methodology” and “MICMAC analysis” to better comprehend how the components interact with one another and prioritise them based on their driving and dependence power.
Findings
This study identified 10 factors of organisational homeostasis in healthcare organisation. Recognition of interdependence, hormesis, strategic coalignment, consciousness on dependence of healthcare resources and cybernetic principle of regulations are the driving or key factors of this study.
Research limitations/implications
The study's primary focus was on the organisational homeostasis factors in healthcare organisations. The methodological approach and structural model are used in a healthcare organisation; in the future, these approaches can be applied to other industries as well.
Practical implications
The key drivers of organisational homeostasis and the identified factors will be better comprehended and understood by academic and important stakeholders in healthcare organisations. Prioritizing the factors helps the policymakers to comprehend the organisational homeostasis for green transformation in healthcare.
Originality/value
In this study, the TISM and MICMAC analysis for healthcare is proposed as an innovative approach to address the organisational homeostasis concept in the context of green transformation in healthcare organisations.
